当面は情報だけになりそうです

ユーカリオイルで有名なシュタイゲリアナ（Eucalyptus staigeriana）、

昨年は少しだけですが花を咲かせるまでに成長していましたが、この冬の寒さで葉は枯れ、今だ新芽が出てくる気配すらありません。

ナチュラルガーデン風の一角にワンポイントとしてシュタイゲリアナを置いていましたが、幹と枝だけの丸坊主になってしまいましたので、高さが同程度のユーカリと置き換えました。

置き換えたユーカリは葉が小さめの品種でしたので、近くにあるセージ類の葉の大きさに負けてしまい、ワンポイントとするには力不足です。

やはり、ナチュラルガーデンやローズガーデンのワンポイントとするには、葉の大きさ、葉の色、枝の出方がポイントになりそうです。

これを検証しようとすると、ユーカリを１．５メートル超まで育ててみないと、いいのか悪いのかの判断ができません。

という事で、ユーカリを大きくするだけの時間が必要になりますので、当面は情報のみの取り扱いになります。


また、縁あって手持ちのユーカリが嫁いでいってますが、嫁ぎ先からのQ&Aに利用する予定です。

何をどうするのか？

とはいきそうにありません。

暑さに弱いもの、寒さに弱いもの、

水分を欲しがるもの、水分はほとんど要らないもの、

葉っぱが丸いもの、葉っぱが細いもの、

小さな苗が、真夏を乗り越え、真冬を乗り越えようとしていますが、

本当にお勧めできるのは何か？

今は切り倒してもうありませんが、

ゴールデンクレストを大きくした時、

８０センチ程の時はかわいく、

１５０センチで、程良いクリスマスツリー、

２００センチで、豪華なクリスマスツリー、

その後はメタボな木になってしまった事が脳裏から消えません。

刈り込みを入れてやると、葉っぱが枯れ、ぽっかりと空いた穴、

少し特殊な木ではありましたが、

これをユーカリに置き換えると、

成長の仕方は少々違いますが、

ぐんぐん大きくなるのは代わりありません。

では、

何が良いのか？

どうなることが良いのか？

にぶち当たっています。

今、考えているのが、

大きくなっても、

また、葉っぱが沢山茂っても、

と言うか、そうなれば別の価値が生まれるもの、

を検討しています。
